Research Field

Areas of activity: During my tenure at ENMU from 1966 to 1998, the year I retired, my teaching and research activities were in the field of terrestrial vertebrate ecology. I served as Chair of the Department of Biology for seven years and Director of the Natural History Museum for 32 years.
As an emeritus faculty, I serve as advisor for display activities in the Natural History Museum Exhibit and conduct guest lectureships for university students, public schools, civic organizations, and New Mexico State Parks.

I am a newspaper columnist (Portales News Tribune, Portales, NM) and Raton Range for Outdoors in the Southern Rockies, Raton, NM), book author, script writer and host for public radio (Nature's Way, KENW FM), and public television (A Moment with Nature, KENW TV).
