Broadcast Journalism

This major will put students right in front of the camera on their own television show, as a news anchor or as a radio personality. ENMU equips students with the skills and hands-on experiences needed for success in this competitive field.

On-air experience is right at students’ fingertips at KENW-TV and FM or the student radio station, KZIA. Students write scripts, perform on-air and report on issues in the surrounding area.

Student courses include:

  • basic and advanced TV production
  • audio production
  • audience analysis

Students also complete four semesters of workshop, giving them real-world experience in studio and field operations. In addition, an internship or professional semester is available to qualified juniors and seniors.
