BackChat is a dual purpose blog to showcase student research in communicative disorders
and the reflections and ramblings of the CDIS faculty, students, "visiting SLPs", and alumni. We publish student works here of all kinds in our ENMU CDIS online journal ( "SoundOff").
BackChat was developed to encourage dissemination of information about communication sciences and disorders. The purpose of this site is to explore evidence based practice, research, and service learning in CDIS. We hope that the information found there may be used as a springboard for other students, fellow researchers, and especially practicing clinicians.
Our new site is still getting off the ground, but grab a cup of coffee and come on by. We'd love to hear your "BackChat" so please drop in for a visit.
We know that some of you are die-hard facebookers so we have a page here too. This site will contain new student introductions and the general "going-ons" around the Program. Here's where all the good photos are stored. Like us and we'll share a smile.

Homecoming
Homecoming 2011:
Hollywood Hounds
As is our tradition, the CDIS Department took part once again in the ENMU fall Homecoming parade. This year's theme was "Hollywood Hounds" and our CDIS gradaute students chose "101 Dalmations" as their inspiration for the Program.
Here they are before the parade with our new banner, "Communicative Disorders Program: We have ways...of making you talk!
The Homecoming Parade takes place each year on a Saturday in October (October 8th for 2011) and begins at 10:30 a.m. on West First Street. The Greyhound Sound is always there, along with student organizations, area schools, political candidates and local businesses.
The parade moves downtown (beginning at East First and Abilene) toward the ENMU campus, covering a good deal of ground! It's a great way to get awareness about CDIS and our clinic to the community so come on out and march with us every year.

Check out Cruella and her Henchmen!
Want to be a henchman too?
Please contact a CDIS Graduate Assistant for details on how you can be involved in next year's parade.
Homecoming 2010: Here are a few of our favorite pics from last year's "Thriller."
