ENMU CDIS Invited Speakers Program

Recent Announcements

• Practicum Supervisor Evaluations - Fall 2009:
  Rate your practicum supervisor! All students completing practicum or externship this summer both on and off campus who are enrolled in CDIS 501, 502, 503, 589, or 593 are invited to provide the Program with feedback.
  
  All surveys are confidential.  Data will not be retrieved until final grades have been posted.  The survey has 10 questions and is untimed.  Please submit a separate evaluation for each practicum supervisor and practicum setting. This survey will close on January 29, 2010. Click here to rate your supervisor!

   

Scheduled Student Meetings

	The next Annual Graduate Student Meeting will occur on January 18, 2010. Please check your email for the time and place. Bring your handbooks. (If you are new, handbooks will be provided at the meeting.) This is a mandatory meeting.
	There will be bimonthly Graduate Assistant Meetings for the Spring semester in Lea Hall, Room 122. These meetings are mandatory for all GAs. Times and days for the Spring semester are emailed by the Graduate Coordinator as they occur so be sure to check you enmu email daily.
	Clinical meetings for Spring 2010 will occur as announced at the ENMU Outreach Center.
	The Summer and Fall course schedules for CDIS are underway. Please see the Course Updates page for specific change information.

Pending Student Meetings (Scheduled PRN)

• CPR training for CDIS clinicians will be scheduled PRN. Please e-mail Ms. Nicole Bougie at Nicole.Bougie@enmu.edu ASAP if you need initial certification or renewal.
• The next preparatory workshop for the National Examination in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (NESPA) will occur in the Spring of 2010. Students who have not yet completed this training but who are planning to take the NESPA in the Fall of 2010 should contact Dr. Adrienne Bratcher for specific scheduling information as soon as possible. Workshop completion is mandatory for all students prior to sitting for the NESPA.

ENMU CDIS Invited Speakers Program

The CDIS Department is pleased to announce the continuation of our Invited Speakers Program once again. Presentations currently scheduled are listed below. Please check back often for new dates and workshop topics.

Spring 2010:

• Dr. Leslie Paternoster will be presenting on common nursing procedures used in medical settings, how to work with nurses, and other medical aspects of direct care services that relate to speech pathologists. She'll be talking about lung sounds, blood pressures, pulse rates, and how to read nursing lingo. This is a hands-on workshop so don't miss it! Dr. Paternoster is a licensed registered nurse with a BSN/MSN and doctorate in educational leadership. She further serves as the Program Director for Nursing at ENMU. March 5 (Friday): 3 to 5 pm - Lea Hall 122.

All presentations are provided free of charge to ENMU graduate and undergraduate students, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, special educators, clients/families, and other interested parties unless otherwise specified. Please plan on attending these exciting and informative sessions!
