Communicative Disorders (Online) Leveling CoursesThe ENMU CDIS Department offers a complete program of CDIS leveling courses via the internet. Satisfactory grades in the courses listed below may be used by any ENMU student to satisfy the leveling requirements necessary to gain admittance into the ENMU CDIS Graduate Program. With the exception of CDIS 400 and 421, leveling courses cannot currently be used to satisfy undergraduate CDIS degree requirements at ENMU; however, these courses may be used to satisfy an emphasis area requirement for the Bachelor of University Studies (BUS) degree. Students completing these courses may additionally be eligible for licensure as an Assistant Speech-Language Pathologist/Speech-Language Pathology Apprentice - This may vary from state to state and students interested in this option must consult their State Regulation and Licensing Board for exact requirements. Our courses have recently been re-structured to allow students to begin the sequence in either Fall or Spring. Each leveling course is offered one time per year. The rotation listed below will be valid through Spring 2010. Fall 2009 - Spring 2010 Rotation
A suggested course of study for students is listed below. Students may start in either Fall or Spring semesters. Some courses have pre-requisites or require concurrent enrollment so please note those above.
Students may take both CDIS 421 and CDIS 400 in the same summer but CDIS 400 must be taken after CDIS 449. As ENMU extends in-state tuition to all graduate students taking 6 or fewer hours (irrespective of their state of residence), some of our leveling students in CDIS choose to go part-time. For students interested in this type of matriculation, the following chart is offered to provide guidance on what courses to take and when they should be taken.
Summer 2010 - Spring 2011 Rotation Beginning in Spring 2010, CDIS 400 Speech Science and CDIS 421 Neuroscience will be moved to the Summer semester. These courses will NO LONGER be offered in the Fall and Spring semesters after Spring 2010. In addition, all of our courses will be moving to 8 week sessions.
