Do I need to apply to both the university and the nursing program?

Yes, you need to apply to both ENMU and the B.S.N. completion program. Both applications can be completed online. Go to www.enmu.edu/nursing and click on the application links.

 

What are the requirements for being accepted into the B.S.N. completion program?

  • Associate’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program or diploma in nursing from a state board approved program
  • Active R.N. licensure
  • Grades of “C” or higher in all nursing classes
  • Grades of “C” or higher in all prerequisite science courses
  • Application for admission submitted to ENMU
  • Application for admissions submitted to the B.S.N. completion program
  • Letter of intent sent to the B.S.N. completion program
  • Current CPR, immunization records and liability insurance on record before taking senior courses
  • Admission review with the nursing program director
  • Completion of Health Science Reasoning Test. This pre- and posttest must be taken at the beginning and end of the program. Students must pay a $30 fee to the Testing Center at ENMU. For more information, contact Bernita Davis at 575-562-2280.

 

How do I access my online classes?
Access opens on the first day of the semester.

  • Go to www.enmu.edu.
  • Under Current Students Menu, choose Blackboard
  • Enter your network (email) login as the username and the ENMU ID number as the password. (For instance, if my name is Edwina Gardinier and my email network login is "gardinie3” all in lower case.)
  • The classes you have registered for will be listed. Click on the class to view the materials.

Do I have an ENMU e-mail address?
Yes, all students have e-mail through ENMU. To access your e-mail account, you must contact the university helpdesk at 575-562-4357. Your ENMU e-mail address will be used to send you official information from the university and the B.S.N. completion program.

 

How do I register for classes?
You’ll be able to register once the following steps are complete:

  • B.S.N. admission process with no holds, which includes filing an official degree plan
  • Transcripts sent and on file at ENMU
  • Academic advising

Once you’re finished, go to www.enmu.edu. Choose Current Students, then register for classes.

 

Does ENMU offer any financial assistance for students in the nursing program?

Yes. You may qualify for financial aid, scholarships and grants.

  • You are welcome to apply for financial aid by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) through ENMU’s Financial Aid office (575-562-2194).
  • The ENMU Foundation offers scholarships for nursing majors. Enter “nursing scholarships” in the search window on the ENMU Web site at www.enmu.edu.
  • The nursing program also has grant money available on a year-to-year basis. It can be applied for a portion of your tuition for nursing classes.
