Studies in Social Welfare and Social Policy focused on Poverty, Unemployment and Community Development. Supportive studies in Labor Markets, Economics, Business Management, Urban Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Employment and Training programs. Dissertation Topic C ommunity Response and Empowerment via Small Business Incubators in a decaying urban industrial region. Designed, researched and implemented a quantitative and qualitative (including extended resident observation) study work groups and community development in incubator settings. Found that of the Garland , Jones and Kolodny Model of group behavior had strong explanatory power for the quality of work group functioning and productivity. Findings have strong implications for Community Economic Development based anti-­poverty programs and for small business incubation efforts. 5-‘74 M.S.W. Boston University School of Social Work, Generic Social Work Completed a Triple Major of Casework, Group work and Community Organization. Received field work training at a major child guidance center and at McLean psychiatric hospital. Clinical focus was on providing community Mental Health outreach casework services and Group work services to groups of delinquent and pre-delinquent youth in a community youth center.

9-‘71 B.A. ( Magna cum laude ) Northeastern University , Boston , Ma. Major: Psychology, Minor: Sociology Pursued academic excellence in Psychology studied personality theories, research/ experimental methodologies and performed experimental neurosurgery on rats, monkeys and pigeons. Worked in professor B..F. Skinner's behavioral psychology laboratory at Harvard University.
