Dr. Phillip Million
Dr. Million is a Professor of Communicative Disorders and has been at ENMU since 1992. He has also taught at the University of Wisconsin ( Eau Claire campus) and Eastern Kentucky University and has worked as a clinical audiologist in medical settings. He completed his B.S. degree at Phillips University and was awarded his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. He also serves as the Coordinator of the Hearing Clinic.
Dr. Million's academic and professional interests are in the area of audiology. He teaches courses in the anatomy/physiology of the auditory and vestibular systems, introductory and advanced audiology, aural rehabilitation, and graduate research. Dr. Million's interests include the electrophysiological evaluation of the auditory system, with specific interest in the correlation of the auditory steady state response with other physiological and behavioral indices. He is also interested in the economics of health care and the application of medical concepts to pedagogy in the field of communicative disorders.
Dr. Million has served two terms as a member of New Mexico 's Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, & Hearing Practices Board, has served on the ASHA Legislative Council, and was a prior member of the State of New Mexico Hearing Aid Advisory Board. He further recently completed a term as the Vice President for Audiology in the New Mexico Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Dr. Million is an avid devotee to almost anything southwestern who enjoys hiking, climbing, and camping in the mountains and deserts of New Mexico.
