Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering
and Mathemathics (S-STEM)

NSFThe Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S-STEM) program, funded by the National Science Foundation, will make awards to academically talented and financially needy students in eastern New Mexico beginning in fall 2009. The goal of this scholarship is to increase and enable students to enter the STEM workforce following completion of the respective degrees.

Eastern New Mexico University is collaborating with Clovis Community College (CCC), New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) and ENMU-Roswell  (ENMU-R) on the S-STEM program.

An advisory committee will award scholarships to eligible students who are pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in one of the following targeted fields:

  • mathematics
  • computer science
  • electronics engineering technology
  • biology
  • computer information systems
  • chemistry
  • biochemistry
  • geology  

To be considered for the scholarship during the fall 2009 semester, you must meet the S-STEM requirements, including financial need calculated using U.S. Department of Education guidelines.

Apply by 5 p.m. on June 15, 2010. After the June 15 deadline, scholarships will be awarded based on availability of funds. You will be notified by July 15.
