Major in Aviation Science – Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science Program of Study
The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree program in Aviation Science is designed for the non-traditional student who has extensive field experience in aviation, has accumulated varying amounts of college credit through other institutions, and holds FAA certifications/licenses.
The B.A.A.S. is also designed for the student who wishes to study advanced levels of aviation science as part of a liberal arts program and intends to continue his/her career in the aviation industry. This program will provide the advanced academics necessary for advancing students to a higher level in their professional aviation-related careers. Students in this degree program may complete all of their required courses online.

Most students pursuing this degree have already been working in aviation-related positions and wish to pursue the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree as a means to move into a higher level position within their company.

Scholarship and Financial Assistance
Eastern New Mexico University is a 4-year public institution committed to helping students finance their education. The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain postbaccalaureate students to promote access to postsecondary education.
Eastern also participates in the New Mexico Lottery Success Scholarship program which pays tuition for up to eight semesters to graduates of New Mexico high schools who meet the state-mandated requirements of taking a full course load and maintaining a college grade point of 2.5. The BAAS program offers a broad view of aviation and provides an academic foundation necessary for pursuing a wide range of employment opportunities in ground operations and servicing, safety, maintenance, ticketing, scheduling, and manufacturing.
