The Bachelor of Science degree in aviation science is designed for students who wish to study aviation as part of a liberal arts program and intend to pursue a career in the aviation industry. This program will provide the academic background necessary to find employment in a number of professional aviation-related careers.
Students in this degree program may complete all of their required courses online. High school courses in mathematics, chemistry, physics, computers and English are helpful.
Scholarship and Financial Assistance
Eastern New Mexico University is a 4-year public institution committed to helping students finance their education. The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain post-baccalaureate students to promote access to post-secondary education.
Eastern also participates in the New Mexico Lottery Success Scholarship program which pays tuition for up to eight semesters to graduates of New Mexico high schools who meet the state-mandated requirements of taking a full course load and maintaining a college grade point of 2.5. Federal need-based loans are also available to U.S. citizens. To receive any form of federal financial assistance, students need to apply online here, free of charge.
The B.S. program offers a broad view of aviation and provides an academic foundation to pursue a wide range of jobs in ground operations and servicing, safety, maintenance, ticketing, scheduling and manufacturing.
Many students in aviation science are already working in or seeking aviation-related positions and pursue the B.S. degree to advance within their companies.
